Earth Train holds Fundraising Event
in Martha's Vineyard

Last August on Martha's Vineyard, islanders and off-islanders alike toasted the arrival of Earth Train, an international youth leadership initiative. The party, organized by Elevate and held in Chilmark, was a benefit for Earth Train's new 1,000 acre center in the elevated rainforest of Panama.

Back Row (from left to right): Katherine Regan, Earth Train participant; Nathan Gray, founder and Director of Earth Train; Maggie Kortchmar, host; Dominique Callimanopulos, President of Elevate; Sherman Teichman, Founder and Director of the Institute for Global Leadership, Tufts University; Rhiannon Goodchild, Jeanette Bailey and Zaki Raheem, Earth Train participants.

Front Row (From left to right): Zoltan Clarke, Callan Louis, Hannah Ingalls, Stella Kortchmar and Zada Clarke, future Earth Train participants.

The problems in Panama are not dissimilar to the problems in Martha's Vineyard, which is also facing challenges in environmental sustainability, population pressures and important choices in community development.
